Experience Jaipur
Jaipur is a part of the one of the most popular tourism routes of India – the golden triangle that includes Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. The place is slowly getting for itself all the modern trappings of a growing metropolis though the unmistakable stamp of the old world charm can be felt everywhere in the city. Though Jaipur is known as the pink city, it is in fact the older part of the city that is still dressed in pink. When you see this pink city in the backdrop of the imposing medieval forts, you are struck by the past of the place which is still closely interwoven with the present of it. Jaipur is named after its founder Sawai Jai Singh II as it was his decision to move the capital out of Amer to the plains. The reasons that forced this decision were growing population and paucity of water in Amer. The city was designed by a Bengali architect Vidyadhar who built the city as per ancient Hindu texts.

» Amber Fort : Located only 11 km from Jaipur, it was the ancient capital of the ruling Kachhawa clan of Amber. The capital was later shifted to Jaipur. The Hindu and Mughal architecture have been combined to produce this fascinating fort.

» City Palace : Situated within the heart of the walled city, the City Palace has been built by combining the Mughal and the Rajasthani architecture. The royal family still resides in a portion of the palace. A portion of the City Palace has now been converted into a museum where you'll get to see a wide variety of royal costumes, pashmina shawls, Banarasi saris and folk embroidery.

» Jantar Mantar : It is one of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh. Astronomy was a passionate hobby of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh and that explains the existence of these observatories. The measurement made through this observatory is as accurate as that of the modern instruments.
